Namun siapa sangka, tak lama setelah pernikahan tersebut, Ovi Sovianti memberikan pengumuman jika dirinya telah meninggalkan Islam dan masuk Kristen. Tentu suaminya yang sudah masuk Islam, kembali lagi ke Agama sebelumnya.
Banyak netizen yang menyayangkan keputusan Ovi Sovianti. Bahkan tak sedikit yang menyalahkan Franky Ilham Roring dan menganggapnya telah mempengaruhi Ovi Sovianti untuk keluar dari Islam. Namun Ovi sendiri langsung membantah tuduhan tersebut, ia menyebut kalau dirinya pindah agama karena kemauannya sendiri.
“Sudah mantap banget. Ada sesuatu yang sangat luar biasa sih ke aku. Di sini tuh enggak ada tuntutan suami kayak gitu-gitu dari awal kenal, pacaran, menikah sampai dia mualaf kan sebelumnya. Dia kan memang sudah jadi imam salatnya aku, dia enggak pernah ngajari aku agamanya dia sebelumnya, enggak pernah sama sekali,” ujar Ovi saat ditemui Kumparan.com (6/12/18).
Sebelum memutuskan pindah Agama, Ovi mengaku merasakan sesuatu hingga membuat dirinya gelisah. Kemudian ia berdoa agar diberikan petunjuk. Kemudian saat Ovi tidur, ia tiba-tiba bermimpi bertemu Yesus, dan pada saat itu, Ovi merasa dirinya sangat tenang dan damai. Karena hal itu, ia kemudian memutuskan untuk pindah agama.
“Mungkin gini ya, kalau aku ceritain enggak masuk akal. Tapi, saat kejadian itu, di aku bikin damai banget di hati. Jadi, aku dimimpiin. Aku minta sama Allah, dimimpiin tapi datangnya Tuhan itu (Yesus). Jadi, aku enggak bisa berbuat apa-apa, mungkin sudah jalannya Tuhan, itu sih buat aku,” lanjut Ovi.
Saat memutuskan untuk masuk Kristen, hal itu tentu bikin suaminya terkejut. Sebab diketahui suaminya pun baru masuk islam. Namun akhirnya karena keputusan Ovi sudah bulat, suaminya yang bernama Franky Ilham Roring itu kembali ke agama sebelumnya, Kristen.
