Setelah menikah Arumi memilih untuk meninggalkan karir keartisannya dan mengikuti sang suami.

"Saya tahu bahwa gaji sekarang karena kalau gaji sekarang cukup terbuka, 6 juta rupiah betul?" tanya Aiman.
"Iya..." jawab Emil sambil tertawa.
"Saya mau tahu, gaji sebagai direktur BUMN waktu itu berapa?" tanya Aiman.
"Gaji waktu itu ya.. lebih dari 10 kalinya ya.." kata Emil.
"Lebih dari 60 juta? Ada 100 juta?"
"Ya sekitar segitu lah..."
"100 juta per bulan dan sekarang harus turun ke 6 juta per bulan?"
Merasa terus penasaran, Aiman pun menanyakan respon dari Arumi saat mengetahui gaji sang suami yang turun jauh dibandingkan sebelumnya.
"Saya itu tahunya pas mas Emil sudah menjabat, baru tahu..., 'sayang ini gajinya?', Oh segini ya? Oh iya..."
Mengetahui nominal yang sangat jauh dibandingkan dengan pekerjaannya dulu Arumi tetap menerima apa yang diberikan dari sang suami.
"Reaksinya ya terima aja lah.. gitu.. agak speechless... tapi ya memang konsekuensinya kalau istri kan ya terima aja lah.. gitu.." kata ibu dua anak tersebut.
"Memang kedengarannya kecil tetapi kan sebenarnya semuanya tercukupi, Insya Allah cukup," lanjutnya.
Akhirnya segala kebutuhan yang diperlukan pun menyesuaikan dengan gaji yang didapatkan oleh Emil.
"Karena kita tinggalnya di Trenggalek juga, kalau misalnya 6 juta trus tinggalnya di Jakarta mungkin ga akan cukup,"
